Belle Vue boss wary of Play-Off "curveballs"

BELLE VUE boss Mark Lemon is wary of Play-Off “curveballs” ahead of their crucial semi-final decider against Ipswich.
The ATPI Aces are 14 points ahead after a crushing first leg victory in Suffolk before the second leg at the National Speedway Stadium tonight, live on BSN (7pm).
However Lemon is insisting there will be no complacency from his team.
Aces manager Mark Lemon said: “The bottom line is that if we can’t score 39 points at home then we won’t deserve to be in the Grand Final, but there will be no talk whatsoever of just scoring 39 points.
“We want to win the second leg and win it well because achieving good results simply breeds more confidence and we want to be peaking in time for the Final.
“Our home form has been outstanding for most of the season but this is no time to be complacent. Play-off speedway can throw plenty of curveballs so we just have to maintain our focus, keep following the process and I have every confidence in this group of boys that we can get what we’re looking for.”
Witches skipper Danny King said: “They were the better team in the first leg; congratulations to them. But it’s not over.
“We knew it was going to be tough. They are a solid outfit. They finished top of the league for a reason.
“I thought we had enough firepower to get a result at home. I’m just disappointed we couldn’t. They were the better team. You could probably sit back and look at certain things, but ultimately, you have to be honest.”
