WOFFY VOWS NOT TO RIDE A BIKE AGAIN

TAI WOFFINDEN has vowed he will not get back on a speedway bike ever again after quitting the sport.

The five-times World Champion was close to tears when announced his retirement in an emotional social media video three weeks ago.

Woffinden, 35, admitted that the serious injuries over the past year had caught up with him after being told he needed more surgery on his shoulder.

Now the British superstar insists he will never get back on a speedway bike and return to his home in Australia.

Talking at the Monster Energy fanzone in Lodz, Poland, he revealed: “For now I’ve not even thought about what’s next. Honestly, I’m going to sell everything.

“I will never race on a speedway bike again. I’ll probably never even ride on one for fun.

“Because I know that if I go make some laps in Australia in the off-season, I’ll sign a contract and come back here to race. That’s not f****** happening. I’m finished with speedway.

“If some opportunity arises where I’m involved in the sport, I don’t know how that will work because we are going back to live in Australia.

“So there’s lots of questions and I don’t have any answers right now. For now I don’t have any plans for speedway in the future.”

Woffinden was also asked if he could change career and become a commentator for the sport.

He added: “It would be fun. In the last 10 years specifically I’ve really had to suppress who I am as a person because of the media, the contracts with my clubs and sponsors.

“Now I don’t owe any club anything. So I’m going to so whatever the f*** I want.

“My Instagram is going to get pretty f****** wild. I’m going to have some serious fun and post everything because I don’t give a s*** about what anyone thinks anymore. It doesn’t matter.”
