Sheffield host Belle Vue at Owlerton in the first leg of the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership Grand Final, with the biggest night in the domestic calendar delivering a mouth-watering showdown between two of the division’s most formidable sides. The occasion is somewhat overshadowed by a significant late blow for the Aces, however, with Peter Kildemand ruled out through injury — a last-minute setback that deprives Belle Vue of one of their key men on the grandest stage of all. It is a blow that will test the Aces’ squad depth, but Bexlle Vue have shown throughout this campaign that they are far from a one-man team, and they will be determined not to let the disruption derail what has been a brilliant season. Sheffield, meanwhile, will be feeding off the energy of a packed Owlerton crowd as they look to build a commanding advantage before the return leg at the National Speedway Stadium — with the Premiership title itself the prize waiting at the end of it all.
